Meet The Trainer
From a young age I knew I wanted to work with animals. I grew up with a German Shepherd, a bunny, parrot, fish, and even turtles. When I turned 18, I started working at the local animal shelter. I loved what I did. While I was there, I brought home a German Shepherd puppy. Coming from a back yard breeder with who knows what experiences, she was a shy little thing. I adored helping her grow up, watching her gain confidence. Working at the shelter I watched many dogs not make it out because of their fear. To this day my goal is to be able to volunteer time working with fearful dogs and help them become adoptable pets.
My training journey started when I moved here from New Jersey in 2021. I started as an assistant at a training facility in Durham and quickly moved up to teaching classes and taking private clients. I have since moved from Durham to Raleigh/Cary and am branching off on my own! I am an approved AKC CGC Evaluator and a CPDT-KA certified trainer.
What I love most about what I do is teaching owners how their dogs are feeling. If we know the reason behind the barking, chewing on shoes, jumping on the counter etc. we can figure out what our dogs need to give us more desirable behaviors.

Methodology
Project Paws Dog Training offers both force free and balanced training methods. We believe that not all dogs learn the same way. Positive reinforcement is a crucial part of training for all dogs and all of our methods revolve around that. However, we also realize not every dog is built the same. There are dogs with higher drives where positive alone isn’t enough to curb undesirable or dangerous behaviors. That being said, if any client isn’t interested in using a balanced approach we are well trained in how to reach similar results using positive only methods. There will be no judgment from us regardless of which path you decide is best for your dog. We will not however use balanced techniques on dogs where it does not benefit that particular dog. Our first priority is your dogs mental wellbeing, and we are confident we can find ways to achieve your goals for each dogs learning style.
